Jeremy Wildeman -- Ellsworth

Jeremy Ryan Wildeman, 35, of Ellsworth, Wis., died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, in Spring Valley, Wis.

He was born July 20, 1983, in Rochester, to Brian and Rebecca (Brown) Wildeman. He grew up and attended schools in Red Wing and Goodhue, graduating in 2001 from Goodhue. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving two tours in Iraq, and was honorably discharged in 2006.

In 2007, he met Bridget Otto and they were married on July 16, 2011. They made their home in Ellsworth, Wis. He worked at the Xcel Service Center in Red Wing and at the Xcel King Plant in Bayport.

He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson, American Legion Post #54 and was a professional walleye fisherman and competed on the Minnesota Tournament Trail, Masters Walleye Circuit and he proudly took 2nd place in 2015 in the National Walleye Tour in Lake City. Jeremy loved hunting and fishing but most of all he loved to laugh and have a good time − you couldn’t help but be drawn to his contagious laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget of Ellsworth, Wis.; his parents, Brian and Becki; sisters, Chrissie Wildeman of Oronoco and Trisha (Adam) Vodnik of Spring Valley, Wis.; nephews and nieces, Alex Wildeman (who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy), Lacey McClain and Phoebe Vodnik; mother-in-law, Karine Otto, and brother-in law, Benji Otto, both of Welch; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, with Bill Bradley officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 3, and for one hour prior to the service, all at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the Leo C. Peterson American Legion.
