John Vacko – Dodge Center

The funeral Mass for John Stanley Vacko will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at St. John Baptist de LaSalle Catholic Church, 20 Second St. NE in Dodge Center, with Father Thien Nguyen celebrating.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center with military honors by the Dodge Center American Legion Post 384.

John Stanley Vacko, 75, of Dodge Center, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Golden Living East in Rochester.

John was born on June 8, 1940, the son of Joseph and Bessie (Cepelak) Vacko, in Owatonna. He graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1958. John served in the U.S. Marines for four years. He farmed for many in years in Dodge Center, and was a member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle Catholic Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed toy tractors and reading.

John is survived by his three sisters, Ann Vacko, Kasson; Judy (Duane) Brockney, Osage, Iowa; Margaret Vote, Riceville, Iowa; a brother, Edward (Maria) Vacko, Bloomington,; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
