Jonathan C. Sonnek - Rochester

ROCHESTER — Jonathan Charles Sonnek, 50, of Rochester, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, in Rochester.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf, Minn. Visitation will be Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, Minn., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Father Peter Klein will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Waldorf.

Jonathan was born August 28, 1959, in Wells, Minnesota, the son of Charles Dominic and Betty Jean (Bartelt) Sonnek. Jonathan graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton High School in 1977. He also graduated from Dunwoody Institute. He worked for 20 years at Excel/Acer Manufacturing in Rochester. He married Holli Kruzan on September 13, 2002, in Lake City. He enjoyed fishing, hot air ballooning and sitting around a campfire. He especially enjoyed watching a full moon and fireworks — the louder the better.

Jonathan is survived by his parents, Charles and Betty Sonnek of Waldorf, Minn.; brothers and sisters, Charles R. (Kandy) Sonnek of La Crescent, Tim (Barb) Sonnek of New Prague, Beth (John) Thompson of Rochester, Amy (David) Adams of Minneiska, Steve (Vonnie) Sonnek of St. Clair, Chris (Karen) Sonnek of New Richland, Kellen Sonnek of Minnesota Lake, Perry (Joleen) Sonnek of Woodville, Wis., Joy Sonnek of Waldorf, Sara (Russ) Kientz of Janesville, Peter (Lori) Sonnek of Waldorf, Anthony (Brenda) Sonnek of Mapleton, Matthew Sonnek of Willits, Calif., Andrew Sonnek of Rochester, and brother-in-law Trevor Buswell of Savannah, Ga.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, along with their families; and numerous good friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and sister, Ruth Ann Buswell.
