Josephine Marie "Jo" Virciglio passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. She died peacefully in the presence of her sister and brother-in-law.
Jo was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Jan. 12, 1934, to Norina (Toscano) and Carmelo Frank Virciglio. She enjoyed working there with many friends for over 30 years. Upon retirement, she worked part time for Franklin Life Insurance Company.
In 2006, Jo moved to Rochester to live near her sister and enjoyed a comfortable retirement at Madonna Meadows Living Community. She loved to read and was instrumental in getting a space for a lending library in the building. Jo really enjoyed helping to check in the books delivered by the public library, playing Bingo and helping in the Country Store.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Madonna Meadows for their excellent care and concern for Jo during her stay there and express their appreciation for the medical care provided by both Olmsted Medical and the Mayo/St. Marys medical communities.
