June Elaine Wick - Hudson, Wis.
ROCHESTER — June Elaine Wick, age 81, of Hudson, Wisconsin, and formerly of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010, at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery, Hutchinson.
June Elaine Wick was born on June 1, 1929, in Rochester, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Walter and Helen (Loos) Siem. June was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, and graduated from Cannon Falls High School with the Class of 1947. June furthered her education at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Speech in 1951.
On January 30, 1955, June was united in marriage to Gayle W. Wick in Cannon Falls. This marriage was blessed with three sons. June and Gayle resided in Hutchinson. They shared 28 years of marriage until Gayle passed away on April 24, 1983. June moved to Hudson in 2009.
June was employed as a high school teacher and part-time librarian in Mora, Minnesota, before teaching Junior High classes in Hutchinson. June also worked part-time in the Resource Center at Ridgewater College in Hutchinson. June was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, where she was Past President of the Dorcas Society and was involved in the Church Council. She was also very involved in the church’s youth choir, release time, vacation bible school and served as a Sunday school teacher.
June loved to travel. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of numerous Bridge Clubs. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. June dedicated many hours to her community and was actively involved in the Hutchinson Safety Council, Charter Commission, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, and was Past President of the AAUW (formerly known as the American Association of University Women) and numerous other civic organizations. June also found enjoyment in her membership in the Red Hats Club, and as a previous member of the Symphony Orchestra at Gustavus Adolphus College and the Gustavus Adolphus Library Associates.
June passed away on June 28, 2010, at United Hospital in St. Paul, at the age of 81 years. She was a devoted wife and mother who will be deeply missed.

June is survived by: her sons, Cal Wick, Brad Wick and Steven Wick, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Thomas, Kevin and Katherine Wick; many other cousins, relatives and friends.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Wick; parents, Walter and Helen Siem; and sister, Nancy Siem.
