June M. Smith — Rochester

Visitation for June M. Smith will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester.

June M. Smith, 73, of Rochester, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

June Marlys Farnsworth was born June 11, 1940, to Fay and Elfrieda (Munkel) Farnsworth. She was born in Cresco, Iowa, moved to Spring Valley, and then moved to Rochester. On Feb. 25, 1963, she married Roger H. Smith in Sioux Falls, S.D., and they raised six children. June was employed by Orlen Ross Interiors for several years and then worked for Mayo Medical Labs.

June loved to play all sports and was an excellent pool player. She went with her team to Las Vegas for National Pool Tournaments three years in a row.

June is survived by her husband, Roger of Rochester; children, Rory (Dawn) Smith of Houston, Texas, Gregory (Lina) Smith of Modesto, Calif., Kimberley (Monti) Hass of Dodge Center, Victoria (Craig) Ness of Kasson and Kristina (Gary) Ingalls of Austin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Fay (Carol) Farnsworth of Rochester, Lee (Audrey) Farnsworth of Stewartville, Della Rasmusson of Rochester, Vivian Shields of Cresco, Iowa and Edith Tupper of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kevin Smith.

A short prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Eyota, at a later date.
