Laura M. Long - Rochester

 ROCHESTER — A Celebration of Life for Laura Mary Long will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday Dec. 30, 2010 at the new River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home of Rochester, with service officiated by Pastor Nancy Wheeler Handlon of Christ United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens of Rochester following the service.

Laura passed away at home early Monday morning, Dec. 27, 2010. She was born Laura Mary Husser, January 30, 1926 in Minneiska, Minn., to John and Isabella Husser. She married Lloyd Long, Sept. 10, 1949 and celebrated 61 years of marriage. They were co-owners of the Pla-Mor Ballroom.

Laura enjoyed gardening, her flowers, needlework, feeding her birds and white squirrel.

She is survived by her children Carol Lovelace, Richard (Sharon) Long, Diane (Michael) Undeberg, Patricia (Nickolas) Goodwin, Sally Zecchin (Bruce Anderson), Randall Long and Son-In-Law Gary Geszvain; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Marcus (Mary) Husser and Leonard (Marie) Husser. She was preceded in death, by brother, Fritz Husser, daughter, Janet Geszvain, and grandson, John Lovelace.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday Dec. 29, in the River Park Chapel and also one hour prior to Thursday’s service.
