Leida M. Dingfelder -- Rochester
Leida Marietta (Roth) Dingfelder, 89, of Rochester, passed away on Nov. 7, 2014, at Samaritan Bethany Home.
Leida Roth was born April 18, 1925, in Lewiston, to Edwin and Amanda Beilke. She moved to Rochester as a baby. She completed eighth grade at Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Rochester High School in 1945. On March 17, 1946, she married Darwin W. Dingfelder, of Bluff Siding, Wis., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester. Leida worked at various places including Waters Conley and Kresege's Dime Store during WWII, Stotts Glove Factory in Winona, Stevenson's in Rochester and more than 20 years at Ben Franklin Elementary School. Leida enjoyed traveling, especially going to Darwin's U.S. California Navy Reunions. She also enjoyed coordinating her high school class reunions.
She is survived by her husband, Darwin, of over 68 years; children, Diane Barclay, of Galesville, Wis., Scott Dingfelder, of Rochester; grandchildren, Jenna Barclay, of Denton, Texas, Gareth Dingfelder, of Eau Claire, Wis; sisters, LaVerne Thompson, of Rochester, Esther (Roger) Price, of White Bear Lake, Alice (Jack) Coggins, of Rochester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Sydney Roth and Arnold Roth.
A funeral service for Leida will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family.
