Lloyd Nardinger - Mazeppa
MAZEPPA — Lloyd Nardinger, age 86 of Mazeppa, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Lake City Medical Center.
Lloyd was born November 11, 1923 in Chester Township in Wabasha County, Minn., to William and Eva (Liffrig) Nardinger. He attended school at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Bellchester for two years, while growing up on the family farm, he then attended District 66 public school in the Chester Township. After schooling he began working on the family farm. He later took over the family farm with his twin brother, Floyd. In 1976 Lloyd owned the grade Holstein that produced the most butterfat in Wabasha County.
Lloyd was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellchester and Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed dancing, motorcycling, playing cards, watching Twins baseball games, and his cows and cats.
He is survived by two sisters, Janet Freiheit of Red Wing, Minn., and Alice Rusch of Goodhue, Minn.; twin brother, Floyd (Arvilla) Nardinger of Lake City, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wilmer, John, and Walter, two sisters, Evelyn Rusch, and Viola Roemer, and two infant siblings, Adeline and Florence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellchester, Minn., on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 11 a.m., with Father Bruce Peterson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Bellchester, Minn.
Visitation will be at the church Sunday, April 4, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and one hour before the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Clem Nardinger, Keith Nardinger, LouAnn Anderson, Betty Schultz, Allen Rusch and Lynn Nardinger. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews.
