Lorraine H. Curdue — Wabasha
Lorraine H. Curdue, 91, of Wabasha, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at her home.
She was born May 23, 1922, in Kellogg, the daughter of Lawrence and Maude (McDunn) Graner. She was a graduate of Kellogg High School and later of Winona State College where she earned her teaching degree. Lorraine taught 4th grade for 31 years at Wabasha Elementary School, retiring in 1984. She married James Curdue Dec. 26, 1945, in Reads Landing. He died Sept. 28, 2002.
Lorraine was an active member of the Wabasha United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bridge and spending time with her family.
Lorraine is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Wayne Wachholz, Woodbury, and Dr. Kathryn Curdue, Minneapolis; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Lawrence "Bud" Graner, Lake City; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Curdue, and her sister, Maxine Schmit.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Wabasha, with the Rev. James Clausen officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery in Wabasha. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday one hour before the service.
