Lorraine Hover — Mabel
Lorraine Hover, 92, of Mabel, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at GreenLea Senior Living in Mabel.
Lorraine was born June 11, 1922, in Newburg Township of Fillmore County, to Louis and Mildred (Hellickson) Amdahl.
She attended Country school in Newburg. Upon completion of eighthgrade, Lorraine went with her family to Waukesha, Wis., where sheworked. She moved back to Newburg and started working at the Newburg Store,which is where she met her future husband.
She married Clifton Hover at the Mabel Methodist Parsonage on Feb.25, 1944. Clifton passed away in 1986.
In 1989, Lorraine moved to Mabel where she lived at Cherrywood Estates,The Meadows, and then in 2010 became a resident of Green Lea Manor.She was a lifelong member of the Newburg Methodist Church. Lorrainetaught Sunday school and held various offices in the United Methodist WomenOrganizations, the Newburg Cemetery Association, was financial secretary forthe Newburg Church and was a volunteer for Green Lea Manor. Lorraine'spassion was her family, her church, being a homemaker, and doing things forothers.
Lorraine is survived by a daughter, Chris (Dennis) Hansen; grandsons, Jason of Osage, Iowa, and Tyler of Mabel; twin sister, Lois Guerrini ofGreenville, Penn.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in deathby her husband, Clifton; brother, Lyle Amdahl, Sr.; and sister, Marjorie
Elton.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at theNewburg United Methodist Church with Pastor David Stoeger officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be noon until thetime of services at the Church. Arrangements are entrusted to MengisFuneral Home in Mabel.
