Lorraine Kohlmeyer — Rochester
Lorraine Kohlmeyer, 90, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Friday, June 20, 2014, surrounded by her children at Golden Living Center East in Rochester.
Lorraine was born March 11, 1924, to Clarence and Bessie Arsers in Osage, Iowa. She received her education at the Chatfield Public Schools, graduating in 1942. After graduation, Lorraine was employed as a telephone operator at the Northwestern Bell office in Chatfield.
Lorraine had a lifelong appreciation for music, especially band music. She played the flute and also enjoyed art.
On June 22, 1946, Lorraine was united in marriage to Carl A. Kohlmeyer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a loving mother and homemaker.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Carl G. Kohlmeyer of Rochester, Leah Kohlmeyer and partner, Tom of Rochester, Galen Kohlmeyer and his wife, Susan of Chatfield, Rise Holt and her husband, Ralph of Punta Gorda, Fla., Marla Buss (husband, Bruce deceased) of Blue Ridge, Ga., Giselle Benitoa and husband, Al of Rochester and Kent Kohlmeyer and his wife, Heidi of Chatfield; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, John and Sam Arsers and sister, Clarice Arsers, all of New Ulm.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William and Kenneth Arsers.
A private memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 25, with interment at a later date.
