Lorraine M. Wilcox — Rochester
The memorial service for Lorraine M. Wilcox will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Destiny Church, 3940 40th Ave. N.W., Rochester, with Joseph Wilcox and John Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in May at Spooner, Wis. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. at Destiny Church prior to service.
Mrs. Wilcox, 94, of Rochester, formerly of Spooner, Wis., passed Sunday, March 9, 2014, at her residence.
Lorraine was born April 2, 1919, in Frog Creek, Wis., to Wallie and Florance (Stigney) Hall and was raised in Minong, Wis.On May 19, 1940, she married Clifford M. Wilcox at St. Mary Church of Minong and they lived in Minong later moving the family to Bashaw Valley where they farmed. Clifford was discharged from the Army after World War II and they moved to Austin. They retired in 1974, and returned to Spooner, Wis. She moved to Rochester during a winter snowstorm in 2003-2004 with the help of her gallant sons.
Lorraine is survived by two sons, Joseph (Rea) of Rochester and John of Cannon Falls; five daughters, Kathleen Stanford of Chippewa Falls Wis., Bernadette (William) Block of Austin, Joy (Paul) Siewert of Hubbard, Iowa, Marie (Harlow) Zellar of Spring Brook, Wis., and Bonnie (Randy) Bates of Forest City, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Charles Hall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, four sisters and four brothers.
Lorraine loves the Lord and studied the Bible, also praying for her children.
