Louise R. Thompson — Rochester

Louise Rowena Thompson, 93, passed away into Heaven peacefully Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

She was bornNov. 3,1919, in Rochester, the fifth child of Gustave and Theresa Hargesheimer. Graduating from RochesterHigh School in 1937, she attended Rochester Junior College, and graduated with a degree as a Medical Secretary. Shemarried Robert J. "Bob" Thompson Aug. 10, 1940, in Rochester, and they were married 58 years, until his death in1998.

She loved to be with her children and grandchildren, and she enjoyed music, reading and watching sports. Louise andher husband loved to ballroom dance, and were members of "The 60 Club". They spent many winters in Florida, and hadmany friends both there and in Rochester.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Hayden (Gary) of Rochester; son, Robert J. Thompson II (Linda) of Mt. Dora,Fla.; twin granddaughters, Christine DeBoer (Mike) of Cottage Grove, and Michelle Groeneweg (Scott) of Woodbury;and five great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, and Jayden DeBoer, and Kaitlyn and Andrew Groeneweg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her great-grandchild, Matthew Groeneweg, her parents, and her siblings,Grace Hargesheimer Radcliff, Alice Hargesheimer Haggerty, Oscar "Jimmy" Hargesheimer, and Miriam HargesheimerMercer.

Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army of Rochester or the Shrine Hospital in St. Paul.

There will be a private family memorial service Feb. 9.
