Lyall L. Wegner — Rochester

Lyall L. Wegner, of Rochester, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Saint Marys Hospital.

Lyall Lansford Wegner was born Nov. 23, 1929, in rural Hammond, the son of Earl and Louise (Wilde) Wegner. He graduated from Rochester High School, and then served in the Air Force, including duty overseas in the Philippines during the Korean War.On Sept. 16, 1951, he married Adeline G. Barr. He joined Northwestern Bell Telephone in January 1953, and retired from AT & T in 1986. He was then a partner in G & S Telephone for several years.

Lyall loved visiting with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed carpentry, hunting, car trips and sports, especially baseball.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas B. (Nancy) of Rochester, and Jon L. (Doris) of West Fargo, N.D.; one daughter, Sue E. Madden of Rochester; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ellsworth of Walker, Mo., and Wayne (Phyllis) of Pine Island; four sisters, June Vagt of Mazeppa, Phyllis Komisar of Simi Valley, Calif., Bernadine (Donald) Duncan of Wabasha, and Joyce McCormack of Rochester.

An infant brother and sister preceded him in death along with one sister, Kathyrn Anwiler.

There will be a private family funeral held at the Macken Funeral Home.
