Lyle Mundell — Rochester

Lyle Mundell passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2015.

Lyle was born on his family farm near Chatfield on Nov. 23, 1931. He was baptized at Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester on Oct. 21, 1934, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran in Chatfield on July 7, 1946. He married Beverly Bandel on Sept. 14, 1956, at St. Paul Lutheran in Chatfield. Lyle served in the Army during the Korean conflict. After graduating from Iowa State College with a degree in agricultural engineering, he worked in Charles City, Glencoe, Le Sueur, and retried in Bismarck, N.D.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years; three sons, William (Beth), Rochester, Karl of North Mankato, Paul of Eden Prairie; and one daughter, Donna of Rochester; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Timothy (Janet), Joseph and Kelsey Mundell; and one brother, Don (Audrey - deceased) of Tucson Ariz.

He preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice (Anderson) Mundell, and one daughter-in-law, Michelle Mundell.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 19, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church .

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Redeemer Lutheran Church Rochester. Burial at Chatfield Cemetery.
