Marian Row - Rochester
ROCHESTER — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Marian Row on Monday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont, Nebraska. Burial will follow at the city cemetery in Hooper.
Mrs. Row, 95, of Rochester, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Golden Living West in Rochester, where she had resided since 2005.
Marian Cecelia von Rein was born May 10, 1915, in Hooper, Nebraska, to Herman and Mary von Rein. Raised in Hooper, she was a graduate of the public schools there. She married Albert Row in Hooper on Nov. 18, 1937. The couple resided in Arlington, where she was a custodian at the school for many years.
She moved to Minnesota in 1991 to be near her children, and she became a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Byron.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Kathleen) Row of Austin; daughter, Janet (Steven) Gatzke of Byron; grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Row, Darren (Jill) Row, Ryan Row, Jeffrey Row, Matthew Row, Cole Gatzke and Blake Gatzke; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jean von Rein.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1989; parents; and two brothers, Andrew and Ernest von Rein.
Friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. The visitation will conclude with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. One hour of visitation will also precede the mass at the church in Fremont on Monday.
