Mike Horsman — Chatfield
Michael "Mike" Earl Horsman, 50, of Chatfield, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.
Mike was born Sept. 23, 1965, in Harmony to Larry and Karol (Truhlar) Horsman. He was raised in Chatfield and graduated from Chatfield High School in 1984. He was a farmer and worked at Tuohy Furniture for 26 years.
Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outside. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his father Larry, brother-in-law Brian Gathje and grandparents.
Mike is lovingly remembered by his mother Karol, of Chatfield; two brothers, Rick Horsman and Scott Horsman, of Chatfield; and two sisters, Kim (Pat) Horsman-Nickolay, of Mesquite, Nev., and Nadine (Kyle) Merkel, of Spring Valley; and his fiancee Lisa Jones and family, of Preston.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church in rural Chatfield, with Pastor Sarah J. Walker-Brown officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 7, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
A committal service will be at Washington Cemetery in rural Spring Valley following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to set up a memorial in Mike's memory.
