Mildred E. Johnson - Whalan

LANESBORO — Mildred E. Johnson, age 92, formerly of rural Whalan, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 28, 2010, at the Faribault Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Mildred was born April 10, 1918, in rural Whalan, the daughter of Anton and Clara (Knutson) Torgerson. She cared for her parents until the time of their deaths. She married Teman E. Johnson Aug. 29, 1971, at the Elstad Lutheran Parsonage. Mr. Johnson died Feb 6, 2001. She was a resident of the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield before moving to Faribault Commons.

Mildred was a lifetime member of the Elstad Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her cousins, Millicent Scheid of Rushford and Elaine Juday of Spring Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at the Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, with Rev. Wade Davick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday one hour before the service.
