Millicent 'Missy' Anderson -- Rochester

Millicent "Missy" Anderson died Jan. 17, 2017, at age 91.

After a long life full of gratitude and service she has passed on to return to the fellowship of her beloved husband, Mark, who preceded her by 25 years.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service celebrating her life to be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the corner of 16th Street and 11th Avenue Southeast in Rochester.

Missy was the younger of two daughters born to Grace and Doug Weld. She married Mark during WW II and raised six wonderful children in Rochester who all survive her: Markham, Louise, Doug, Peter, Sarah and Matthew. She has a great collection of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her joy and were featured prominently on her fridge.

Because Missy was such fun to be with and never had a negative thing to say, she enjoyed nearly perpetual visits from friends, church members, and family. For the last many years, Missy lived at her home in Rochester which she shared with delightful young latter-day saint missionaries. Clear minded and wise to the very end, she only recently decided to stop driving. She represents to us the epitome of a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Fund to serve those in need of clean water, sanitation and skills training throughout the world.
