Norman Edward Sandeno — Antioch, Calif.

In the early hours of Monday, May 12, 2014, Norman EdwardSandeno, 70, of Antioch, Calif.,passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Hewill be missed by his family and friends.

The fifth of seven children, Norman was bornDec. 20, 1943,to Amos and Edna Sandeno in Kenyon,and later moved and attended schoolin Kasson, graduating from Kasson-MantorvilleHigh School. Norman served in the NationalGuard for several years and began a trade in thegraphic arts in Owatonna, before enlistingin the U.S. Navy as a lithographer's mate.Relocating to San Diego, Calif., with his family, heserved aboard two navy ships before receivingan honorable discharge. Known as "Sandy"among his shipmates, he was extremely proud ofhis service to United States and loved the sea.Norman continued his career as a printer withSpectroChrome Graphics in Benicia, Calif.,for a few years as vice president of productionuntil his entrepreneurial spirit soon directed himinto opening his own print shop. Established inBenicia for nearly 30 years, Sandeno PrintingServices was known in the Bay Area as anhonest business producing high quality printedproducts. Norman retired in 2011 to enjoy thecompany of his family and dogs. He loved hisannual vacations in Mexico with his wife,Svetlana, and the occasional company of hisbrother, Robert, and grandson, Andrew.

Norman is survived by his wife, Svetlana;children, Timothy (Lisa) of Gorham, Maine,Thomas (Rhonda) of Vacaville, Calif., Angela(Joe) of Santee, Calif., James (Jennifer) of Forney, Texas, Kevin (Iesha) of Vacaville, Calif., Justin(Megan) of Vallejo, Calif., Tatiana (Eric) of Alamo, Calif., and Joanna (Jason) of Oakley, Calif.; and15 beloved grandchildren. He is alsosurvived by his five brothers but predeceased byhis sister, Bonita.

He will be missed by all in thislife as we await the day of the resurrection.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Grace Lutheran Church,195 Alvarado Ave., Pittsburg, Calif., at noon Sunday,June 15. Norman will be buried at sea with fullmilitary honors the following week.
