June Adele (Wyman) Rodysill passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Many comforting thoughts and prayers accompanied her to her heavenly home. June was born on January 23, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN and raised on a farm near Tolna, North Dakota. She rode her horse to a one-room schoolhouse near Tolna and graduated from Devil’s Lake High School, where she graced the Homecoming parade as Queen. June then attended classes at Minot State Teacher’s College.
June met the love of her life, Jerome Rodysill, while working in an office in Devils Lake. They were married soon after, on June 10, 1951, in Tolna. June and Jerry moved often in the first five years of their marriage, starting in Devils Lake and eventually ending in Bloomington, MN, where they resided for the rest of their lives.
In addition to raising four children, June was active in many community and social activities, including delivering Meals on Wheels for 25 years, reading to kindergarten children at Valley View Elementary School for 4 years and as a long-term volunteer for the Bloomington Crime Prevention Association Book’Em used book sale. June worked as a veterinarian assistant at Wolff Animal Hospital in Bloomington and as a staff member for Bob Lurtsema’s newspaper, The Viking Report.
June and Jerry traveled often throughout their years together. After Jerry died in 2008, she continued this love of travel with girlfriends to locations far and wide, including Italy, Russia and the Great Wall of China while in her 80’s. June had an unbelievably active social life, participating in four bridge groups and regular social outings with her many groups of friends.
June was a friendly and positive woman, with a smile for all. She was known for her strength, resilience and fun-loving character. Above all, she was always classy.
