Caroline M. Schuelke

Caroline Madonna Schuelke, 94 of Rochester, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2020. Caroline Madonna Brott was born on July 2, 1926 in Eau Claire, WI to Bartlett and Barbara Brott.

Her family moved to Rochester where she graduated from Lourdes High School. After high school, she was in the Civil Service at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Macon, GA. as a Telegraph Operator. She returned to MN, and was married to Joseph Schuelke on May 19, 1951. Together, they made Rochester their home. Caroline worked for many years in the Rochester School District ISD 535 and was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, and the St. Barbara Rosary group at St. Francis of Assisi.

She is survived by her children Diane (Dave) Nolte, Sally Schuelke, Nancy (Ron) Briggs; her brother Jim Brott; her grandchildren Justin (April) Nolte, Christopher (Sarah) Nolte, Michael Briggs, Travis Briggs; and four loving great-grandchildren who knew Caroline as “Grandma Joey”, Riley, Emma, Ellie, and Ryan.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joseph.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Her ashes will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
