Pamela Lynn McGovern — Rochester

Pamela Lynn McGovern, 54, of Rochester, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Saint Marys Hospital, after a year-long fight with cancer.

Pam was born Aug. 2, 1960, to Bob and Nancy Kelly of Byron. After graduation from Bryon High School, she became a nursing assistant at Saint Marys Hospital. She married Michael McGovern a year later. They lived in California until Michael, who was in the Marine Corp, shipped out for the Middle East. Pam came back to Byron. They later divorced.

During her lifetime, Pam had many pets. She loved all animals and rescued many dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and other small animals. She also loved gardening, especially all types of flowers. She also was an avid birdwatcher.

Pam is survived by her children, Robert McGovern, Thomas McGovern and Angelique McGovern, all of Rochester; her father and mother, Bob and Nancy Kelly of Byron; and a sister, Peggy McGovern of Rochester.

She requested there be no service, except for a family burial which will be in the spring.
