Rebecca Kramer (Spitalny) — Rochester
Rebecca Kramer (Spitalny), affectionately known as grandma Phoenix, 101, of Rochester, formerly of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Madonna Meadows surrounded by her family.
Rebecca was born July 25, 1912, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Max and Ida Spitalny. Rebecca received her bachelors degree in education from Arizona State University. On Aug. 3, 1947, Rebecca married Robert Kramer, and he preceded her in death exactly 31 years ago.
Rebecca enjoyed flower gardening, dancing, traveling and antiquing. Above all, Rebecca loved spending time and making memories with her family.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Sheila) Kramer of Rochester and Debbie (Mick) Shelstad of Rochester; grandchildren, Carli (Eric) Tourdot, Courtney Kramer and Natalie Kramer; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Tourdot, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; six brothers; two sisters and her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place N.W., Rochester.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, at Beth Israel Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
