Renee Peterson

Renee Lynn Mitchell was born in Miami, Florida July 16th, 1957 to Leva and James Mitchell.

Renee lived in Florida with her mother, father and half sister, Judy Silcox.

The family moved to Hawaii and lastly to Arkansas. Renee lived in the Ozarks on a farm with her family until she graduated from Mena High School with Honors in 1975.

Renee moved to Rochester, Minnesota and started out bussing tables at the Kahler Hotel. She grew her friendships in the Zumbro Valley Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses and met her husband, Guy Peterson.

She began her career at the Mayo Clinic then started her family with Guy.

Together they had 3 children; Jessica (1979), Justin (1981) & Devon (1986). Along the way they enjoyed good health, family & friends with lots of pets, travel and adventures.

Renee moved to Ireland in 2005 once her children launched as adults.

She was passionate about travel and hated the cold MN winters. She found Cork to be the most beautiful and inviting place she could live and never have to shovel snow again.

Renee was the most thoughtful, compassionate and intelligent woman. She was loved by any who met her and trusted by all who knew her. Her sense of humor was never lost on anyone and her smile and laugh were contagious. Her love of comedy, the arts, the earth and all creatures great and small was evident in her everyday life.

Renee passed away on February 12th, with friends by her side at Marymount Hospice in Cork, Ireland. She is survived by her children who currently all reside in the state of Minnesota with their families; Jessica (Casey) McFarlen, Tristan (13), Spencer (12), Justin (Jessica) Peterson, Ava Neudecker (13), Kaelyn (5), Emma (3) and Devon (Melissa) Peterson, Audrey (8), Riley (2) and expected baby boy April 2021 as well as many close and longtime friends around the globe.
