Richard ‘Dick’ Miller — Kellogg
Richard J. "Dick" Miller, 72, of Kellogg, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 12, 1943, in Reads Landing, the son of Arthur and Genevieve (Schmit) Miller. He married Kay Drake on Oct. 15, 1960, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg. Dick worked in his earlier years as a farmer in Highland Township of Wabasha County. He also did logging, and he worked as a manager of a chip plant for the Horner-Waldorf Company.
He enjoyed deer hunting, and he was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Dick is survived by his wife, Kay Miller, Kellogg; children and spouses, Gerri and Wayne Boelk, Barnes, Wis., Mary and Randy Fellows, Wabasha, Brenda Burgland, Arlington, Texas, Jodi and Mark Hauer, West Concord, Marty and Lori Miller, Kellogg; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Darlene Miller, Theilman, Rosemary Miller, Plainview; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Genevieve Miller; brothers, Harold and Lawrence Miller; and sister, Marian Evers.
A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg, with the Rev. Monsignor Thomas Cook officiating. Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery, rural Kellogg. Casket bearers will be Wayne and Ryan Miller, Randy Fellows, Dirk Drake, Dan Miller and Marty Miller. Family and friends may call at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Sunday, May 8, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday one hour before the Mass.
