Richard V. Bowman — Rochester

A visitation for Richard V. Bowman will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home. A private family burial will be at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston.

Mr. Bowman, 80, of Rochester, passed away at St. Marys Hospital on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016.

Richard was born on July 23, 1936, to Edward and Mary Bowman in Mora, Minn. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1959 to 1963. He married Doris A. (Berg) Bowman on Nov. 14, 1959, in McGrath, Minn. Doris passed on Aug. 2, 2005. Richard was a truck driver for S&S Moving and Storage for decades.

Survivors include children, George, Fred, Edward and Joseph Bowman, all of Rochester, and Deborah (Charles) Daskam of Harmony and Laurie (Tom) Calhoon of Spearfish, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by parents, his wife, Doris, a grandson, Steven, and his eight brothers and three sisters.
