Richard W. 'Dick' Brady Jr. - Austin

Richard W. "Dick" Brady Jr., age 72, of Austin, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at his home.

He was born May 3, 1939, in Austin, to Richard and Meta (Bornfleth) Brady. He grew up in Austin, where he graduated from Austin High School. Dick worked for the Parks and Recreation Department in the city of Austin on the tree crew from April 1, 1964, to Dec. 31, 1996.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include sons and daughters, Deb Benson (Rod Brown), Blooming Prairie, Lori (Steven) Janssen, Austin, Jeff (Heidi) Brady, Rochester, Jennifer Gardiner, Plymouth, and Mark Brady, Austin; seven grandchildren, Jenna Benson, Jordyn Brady, Shelby Janssen, Devin Brady, Shaelynn Brady, Isabel Gardiner and Eloise Gardiner; sister, Dolores Roberts, Arizona; and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Mayer Funeral Home. Rev. Kristi Koppel officiated. Friends called for one hour before the service. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
