Rita Skeels — Elk River

Rita M. (Fitzgerald) Skeels, 72, of Elk River, passed peacefully Friday, Aug. 21, 2015. Born in Rochester to Francis and Margie Fitzgerald on Nov. 14, 1942.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Preceded in death by her parents and a brother, the Rev. Thomas Fitzgerald. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 51 years, David; children, Sarah (Neil) Anderson and Mike (Christine) Skeels; grandchildren, Sydney, Alec and Sofia; siblings, Joseph (Joan) Fitzgerald, Rosemary (John) Harrington, Ann (Gordie) Rasmussen, Francis (Heather) Fitzgerald and Noreen Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and good friends.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park, at 4 p.m., with a visitation at 3 p.m.
