Robert 'Bob' Kothenbeutel — Rochester

Robert A. "Bob" Kothenbeutel, 76, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Regina Hospital, Grace Unit, Hastings.

Robert Allen Kothenbeutel was born March 3, 1939, to John and Ethel (Poole) Kothenbeutel in Rochester. Bob graduated from Rochester High School in 1957. He married Karen I. Simso on Nov. 24, 1957, in Rochester. Bob worked at IBM for 32 years. The couple retired to Hayward, Wis., and wintered in San Rayburn, Texas. The couple returned to Rochester in 2005. Bob was a lifelong golfer, coached youth football and hockey, enjoyed boating on the river, and was a charter member of the 14th Avenue Navy. Bob's family would like to thank all of our lifelong friends, neighbors and co-workers for their kindness and support.

Bob is survived by his wife, Karen Kothenbeutel, of Rochester; his sons, Mike (Janet) Kothenbeutel, of Rochester, Tom (Shari) Kothenbeutel, of Zumbrota, and John (LeeAnn) Kothenbeutel, of Sauk Rapids; sister in law, DeeDee Kothenbeutel of Louisville, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ron and a nephew, Craig.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes' chapel. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester.
