Robert J. Grabko -- Rochester

Robert "Bob" Grabko, 87, of Rochester, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus.

Bob was born on June 1, 1929, in Rochester to John and Gertrude (Adams) Grabko. He married the love of his life, Marcella Stecker, on Dec. 29, 1956. They were partners in life for 60 years.

Bob was a graduate of Lourdes High School and was a Lourdes Foundation supporter. He attended Rochester Community College and the University of Minnesota. He was a veteran of the Army serving in a MASH unit during the height of the Korean War. Bob was a lifelong businessman, operating alongside his wife in an antique and appraisal business for many years. He was a lifelong fisherman, enjoyed time with family, travel, wildlife, and the outdoors, particularly at their north-country cabin near Pine River, Minn.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Marcy; three sisters, Jean (John) Liegl, Joan (Ken) Brown, both of Rochester, and Kathleen (Bob) Lushanko, of Scandia, Minn.; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Grabko, and his brother, Richard Grabko.

Bob had a love for life and a great sense of humor and personality that endeared him to all who met him. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour to prior to the Mass Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Pius X Catholic Church or Paws and Claws Animal Shelter.
