Robert William King — Rochester
Robert "Bob" William King, 80, of Rochester, was born April 13, 1934 in Buffalo, N.Y., and died at home Thursday, May 15, 2014, with family.
Bob was the son of William Lorne King(deceased) and Evelyn Jewell (Knapp) King(deceased).
Beloved husband of wife, Linda Bandel King for 41 years. Loving father of Wesley Joseph, Paul William, Nathaniel Robert and Jacob Richard; brother of Linda Evelyn of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Sally Louise (King) Castle of Springboro, Ohio, Richard Lorne (deceased) of Charleston, S.C., and Wesley Dickson (deceased) of Buffalo, N.Y. He was proud grandfather of Kipp and Elliott; and also had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Robert was president of his senior class which graduated from Jamestown High Schoolin 1952. He played on the high school football team.Bob graduated from Lehigh University with an electrical engineering degree in 1956 and a physics engineering degree in 1957. He was on the wrestling teamin college. Bob was employed by IBM in Endicott, N.Y., Boblingen, Germany and Rochester for 36 years.
Celebration of the life of Robert William King will be held Wednesday, May 21, at10 am. Family will greet friends prior to the service, anytime after 9 a.m. Service will be followed by dedication and luncheon all at the First Presbyterian Church,512 Third St. S.W., Rochester.
