Rose H. M. Luhman -- Zumbrota
Rose H. M. Luhman, age 93, of Zumbrota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with the Rev. Wayne D. Schoch and Vicar Nathan Laska co-officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
Rose Helen Martha Lueck was born on March 1, 1925, in Belle Creek Township, Goodhue County, to Henry and Anna "Maggie" (née Tewes) Lueck. Rose grew up on the farm and attended District #100 Country School.
On Dec. 4, 1948, she married Ernest Luhman at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. They made their home in Zumbrota and raised their four daughters.
Rose worked at Rochester Dairy, Pace Dairy, Zumbrota Public Schools and Ahlborn’s Café in Zumbrota. Rose enjoyed gardening and canning, bird watching, embroidery, crocheting, quilting, baking; especially bread and spending time with family.
Rose is survived by her four daughters, Joy (Tom) Burson of Minneapolis, Beverley (James) Schumacher of Las Vegas, Carol Lunn of Anoka and Rose Weber of New Richland; eight grandchildren, Abraham (Kelley) Burson, Sarah (Pedro) Gomez, Alecia Schumacher, Krista (Adam) Sheets, Matthew (Amie) Lunn, Stephanie (Nate) Scammahorn, Angela Weber and Anne (Ben) Miller; eight great-grandchildren, Savannah Sheets, Riley Prahl, Samuel Bear Sheets, John Henry Thomas Lunn II, Jacob Lunn, Tobias Scammahorn, Aurora and Vincent Saass; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; two infant daughters; parents, Henry and Maggie; five brothers, Rudolph, Harold, Lester, Fritz and Theodore Lueck; two sisters, Loria Kautz and Maria Ebert.
The family suggests memorials to donor’s choice.
