RoseMarie Larson - Rochester

RoseMarie Larson, 84 of Rochester, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Saint Marys Hospital.

RoseMarie (Luedtke) Larson was born Jan. 9, 1928, at Lone Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Seegebarth) Luedtke. She graduated from Algona (Iowa) High School. She was a dental assistant after graduation and on Aug. 8, 1948, she married Leon Larson. They moved to Rowan, Iowa, and operated a grocery store for a few years. In 1956, they moved to Rochester where she was employed as a bookkeeper at John Marshall High School for 10 years, Prudential Life Insurance for five years, and at a travel agency until working part-time as the secretary at Redeemer Lutheran Church.

RoseMarie was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, participated in the Senior Choir, Sarah Circle, LWML, Women’s Bible Study, Elderberries and Mayo Hospice for many years.

She also enjoyed bowling for many years, gardening, antiquing and birdwatching.

Living family members include her husband, Leon; a daughter, Dawn (Mark) Radtke of Rochester; and sisters, Viola Marlow of Ostrander and Anita (Melvin) Theisen of Fenton, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Edwin (Caroline) Luedtke of Lotts Creek, Iowa and Harold (Martha) Leudtke of Byron and a sister, Verona (Robert) Schmidt of Lone Rock, Iowa.

The funeral service for RoseMarie will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, with Rev. James Heining officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the services at the church.

Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church of Rochester.
