Shirley Landsteiner — Mankato
Shirley Ann Landsteiner, 78, of Mankato, Minn., died Friday, Dec. 18, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be on Sunday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Crossview Covenant Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Shirley was born to William and Geraldine (Price) Aitken on Feb. 20, 1937, in Blue Earth, Minn. She graduated from Blue Earth High School and attended Beauty School in Minneapolis. She married Francis Landsteiner on Sept. 3, 1957. The first year of their marriage they lived in Augusta, Ga., while Francis was in the service. They settled on the family farm in Mapleton. She ran a beauty shop out of their home. She enjoyed sewing, hardanger, painting, woodworking, family tree research and baking. She enjoyed sewing for her family and baking delicious treats for family and friends. They enjoyed traveling in the United States and overseas. She enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren, but most of all she loved the Lord and sharing her faith with others.
She is survived by her husband, Francis; their children, Sheila Yennie (Joe), Pine Island, Mark Landsteiner (Jodie), Columbia, S.C., Julie Sanger (Neal), Waterville, Minn., Karen Meiners (Jay), Cottonwood, Minn., Peter Landsteiner (Bridget Lee), Mapleton, Minn.; grandchildren, Sarah Al-Dahleh, Amelia Winkels, Richard, Heather and Samuel Yennie, Brandon and David Aase, Taylor and Dustin Mielke, Zachary, Michaela and Nicholas Sanger, Joshua, Jacob and Emily Meiners, Ashton McAnally, Lilly Lee and Cayden Landsteiner; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary and Irene.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Richard, Elmer and Leonard.
