Shirley M. Shaw - Dodge Center

DODGE CENTER — The funeral service for Shirley Mae Shaw, 74, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Dodge Center United Methodist Church, 20 - 1st Street N.E., Dodge Center, Minn., with Reverend Michelle Miller officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.

Shirley Mae Shaw, 74, of Dodge Center, died Sunday in Rochester.

Shirley Mae Thompson was born Sept. 12, 1935, the daughter of Lowell and Golda (Bjork) Thompson in Pomeroy, Iowa. Shirley was united in marriage to Lynn Shaw on June 17, 1956, in Pocahontas, Iowa. The couple moved to Dodge Center in 1958. Shirley worked at Gauerke's Gift, Dodge Center, Minn.; the Motor Mart, Kasson, Minn.; Bonanza Foods, Rochester, Minn., and SEMCAC in Dodge Center.

Shirley was an active church member and den mother. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and most of all enjoyed her crafts.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Kevin (Cheryl) Shaw, Dodge Center, Minn.; Keith (Tracy) Shaw, Albert Lea, Minn.; one daughter, Kathy (Tim) Maiden, Buffalo, Minn.; five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Phyllis) Thompson, Hayfield, Minn.; and one step-daughter, Cindy Kowalski, Rochester, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lynn, in 1985; and special friend Bob Kowalski.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street in Dodge Center, and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
