Stanley G. Cimmiyotti — Sargeant

Stanley G. Cimmiyotti, 75, of Sargeant, died Thursday, April10, 2014, at Prairie Manor in Blooming Prairie.

Stan was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Iowa, to Joe and Helen (Fischbach)Cimmiyotti. He married Carol Heimer on Aug. 27, 1961, at Queen ofAngels Catholic Church in Austin. Stan worked at the American CanCompany in Austin, and he was manager for Sargeant Grain Company. Whileworking there, he met Merle Lund. Those two started up S-M Truckingwhich he eventually took sole ownership. Stan also owned SargeantWelding and Machine for many years. For the past 13 years, he worked asa security guard for Securitas in Austin. Stan retired in July 2012.

Stan loved flying his own plane, gardening, camping, and fishingwith his family. He took many trips to California to visit hisgrandchildren. One of his favorite events was attending the Air Show inOshkosh, Wis. He spent his spare time working at his shop.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Cimmiyotti, Sargeant;children, Kevin (Pam) Cimmiyotti, Vacaville, Calif., Kelli Cimmiyotti(Robert Crabtree), Sargeant, Kristal Cimmiyotti (Michael LaVelle),Austin; grandchildren, Tyler Cimmiyotti and Jessica Cimmiyotti,Vacaville, Calif., Logan LaVelle, Austin; sisters, Jackie (Paul) Ritter,Charles City, Iowa, Lois (Kenny) Reuter, Dubuque, Iowa, Leola Brady,Monticello, Iowa and Marlys Bade, Roseville; brothers, Ron (Janet)Cimmiyotti, Charles City, Iowa, Gordy (Sandy Nelson) Cimmiyotti,Stacyville, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and an infant granddaughter.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22,2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield, with Father StevePeterson officiating. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at MayerFuneral Home, and the family will also greet friends at a luncheonfollowing the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be inFairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
