Susan C. Dornbrack -- Byron

The memorial service for Susan C. Dornbrack will be at 6 p.m.Thursday at the Brainard Funeral Home in Wausau, Wis. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Susan C. Dornbrack, 63, of Byron, passed away Aug. 28, 2015, at Prairie Meadows Care Facility in Kasson.

Susan was born Aug. 6, 1952, in Wausau, to Anton and Dorothy Nowitzke. She graduated from Wausau East High School in 1970. On Oct. 20, 1973, she married Gary A. Dornbrack at Holy Name Church in Wausau. The couple lived in Merrill, Wis., and then moved to Wausau in 1976. In 2004, the couple moved to Byron.

Susan worked for the Marathon County Health Department in Wausau for 22 years. She retired at the young age of 48 due to diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's.

Susan loved traveling, water parks, music and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Dornbrack, of 41 years and their three children: Erick Dornbrack, Josephine (Jeff) Bale and Bradley Dornbrack; three grandchildren, Nathan, Alyssa and Kelsey Bale; her mother, Dorothy Nowitzke; and four siblings, Ken (Dar) Nowitzke, Kathy Bandock, Tom (Mickey) Nowitzke and Jeff (Cindy) Nowitzke.
