Terry Dohrn -- Lake City

Terry John Dohrn, 51, of Lake City, died peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at Methodist Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Terry was born on Sept. 8, 1965, in Lake City to Vernon and Ardelle (Witt) Dohrn. He lived his entire life in Lake City.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during peace time. He then married Darla (Plank) Dohrn. They were blessed with two children. They later divorced. He worked at the Jewell Nursery, was a laborer for Borsnon/Knutsen and WAK Construction. He then pursued his lifetime passion of truck driving until the time of his death. Terry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, hunting, going for Ranger rides and anything outdoors.

Terry is survived by his children, Dalton and Taylor Dohrn of Lake City and Caleb Moyer of Frontenac; father, Vernon (Cathedra) of Lake City; sister, Robin Adams of Stewartville; niece, Melaney Adams of Stewartville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ardelle; maternal grandparents, Ed and Bernice Witt; and paternal grandparents, Emil and Anna Dohrn.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City, with the Rev. Stephen Kurtzahn officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery Lake City. Military honors will be by Lake City VFW Post #8729 and American Legion Post #110.
