Thelma L. Maage — Le Roy
Thelma L. Maage, 93, of Le Roy, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at Wildwood Grove in Le Roy, where she had resided for five years.
Thelma Lillian Kalland was born Sept. 28, 1923, in Strathcona, Minn., to Nick and Clara (Norgaard) Kalland. She attended and graduated from Adams High School and was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Maage in Le Roy on Nov. 23, 1941, and together they farmed in the Le Roy and Ostrander area all their lives. Thelma enjoyed all aspects of farm life, especially raising horses and her Dalmatians, taking both to many area parades. She also was very active in singing for many funeral services and other occasions in the surrounding areas.
Thelma is survived by two sons, Army Maj. (Ret.) Donald (Gayle) Maage, of Fridley, Minn., and Dr. Richard (Deb) Maage, of Hardin, Mont.; a granddaughter, Keri (John) Erickson, of Minneapolis; and one great-granddaughter, Sydney Devito, of Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1995 and seven brothers.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Le Roy Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
