Tillie C. Ressler — Blooming Prairie

Tillie C. Ressler, 98, of Blooming Prairie, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Prairie Manor Care Center.

Tillie Christine Risovi was born Jan. 8, 1917, in Hamberg, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Barnett) Risovi Sr. She grew up in Hamberg and graduated from high school in Maddock, N.D., in 1936. Tillie moved to Blooming Prairie in 1938 and worked at various area businesses, including the Cozy Inn, Josten's, Harriet's Dres-Wel and Ressler Lanes and Café. She married George B. Ressler on Feb. 14, 1946, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, where the couple remained members. Tillie was secretary of the CCW and belonged to the Bridge Club. Other favorite pastimes included bowling, golfing, quilting, working in her flower gardens, as well as baking and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

Tillie is survived by her husband, George Ressler, of Blooming Prairie; her children, David Ressler, of Blooming Prairie, and Joanie (Harry) Muellner, of Rochester; six grandchildren, Kristin (Jack) Holforty, of Carmel, Ind., Michael Ressler and Aaron Ressler, both of Blooming Prairie, Eric (Melanie) Ressler, of Ackworth, Ga., Brian (Sarah) Muellner, of Rochester, and Andrea (Chris) Peterson, of Eden Prairie; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson and Taylor Holforty, Jake, Jessica, Connor and Kensley Ressler, and Broderick Muellner; her sister, Lillie Neumiller, of Spokane, Wash.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Risovi; twin daughters, Karen and Sharen Ressler; two brothers, Joseph and Stanley Risovi; granddaughter, Bethany Muellner; and great-grandson, Jordan Ressler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columbanus Catholic Church, with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Blooming Prairie Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. There will be a parish rosary service at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to a recipient of the donor's choice.
