Tillie Mary Vanderbosch — Rochester
Tillie Mary Vanderbosch, 94, of Rochester, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014, in Rochester.
Funeral services for Tillie were held Wednesday, July 16, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Matthew Crane officiating. Interment was held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville, Minn.
Tillie was born March 7, 1920, in Iona Township, Todd County, to Peter and Katherine (Gaida) Opelia. She worked at the Kahler Hotel for 38 years in Rochester as a waitress where she met people from all over the world.
Tillie enjoyed working in her yard and garden and later in life traveling with family and friends. Spending time with her family was her greatest enjoyment. Tillie was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester.
Tillie is survived by her children, Darlene (Mike Eickmeyer) Moen of Lake City and Richard (Jane) Vanderbosch of Rochester; siblings, Esther Gruidl of Minneapolis, Bernie Baker of Clarissa, Minn., and Elsie (Bud) Dreher of Long Prairie, sisters-in-law, Beulah Opelia of Browerville and Pauline Carson of Rochester; grandchildren, Peter and Patrick Vanderbosch of Duluth; special caregiver, Joy Forsberg with Joy's Adult Foster Care in Rochester where Tillie resided for six-and-a-half years. The excellent care is very much appreciated.
Tillie is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Sharon Marie Vanderbosch, son-in-law, LeRoy Moen, sisters, Lucille Opelia and Gladys Egan and brother, Lawrence Opelia.
