Virginia A. Moham — Stewartville

Virginia A. Moham, 68, of Stewartville, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at her home, from complications of a short illness with cancer.

Virginia Ann Moham was born July 9, 1944, in Arcadia, Wis., to Raymond and Mary (Christ) Moham. She moved with her family as a young girl to Stockton, where she attended Lewiston schools. She moved to Lewiston where she raised her girls, and provided daycare from her home and worked in manufacturing. She moved to Stewartville in 1994 where her daughter, Lisa, lives and she made her home there. She was currently employed in housekeeping at Country Inn and Suites in Rochester and had been employed at Chateau Theatres in Rochester for a time.

Virginia was a member of Immanuel Lutheran (SILO) Church in rural Lewiston. She enjoyed walking, bird-watching and bird-feeding, following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, playing cards, doing puzzles and time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

Virginia took care of people all of her life, always thinking of others before herself. Her work ethic was unmatched and she was very empathetic. Virginia was a doting grandmother who lit up in the presence of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Lisa of Stewartville, and Amy (Joel) Stich of St. Paul; three grandchildren, Joshua Ihrke, Isabella and Jackson Stich; three sisters, Mary Lou Sims of McMinnville, Tenn., Susan Moseman of Salem, Ore., Heidi Anderson of Tracy; three brothers, Harold (Joanne) Moham of Winona, Leonard (Gail) Moham of Johnson City, Tenn., and Robert Moham of Cloquet; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Delores and Charlotte, and brother, Richard Moham.

A private family funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stewartville, with the Rev. Lyle Fritsch officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. There is no public time of visitation.
