William F. Dahling Jr. - Rochester

ROCHESTER — Private services for William ‘Bill’ Dahling Jr. will be held at a later date. Mr. Dahling, 66, of Rochester, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Saint Marys Hospital. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City.

William Fredrick Dahling Jr. was born Oct. 22, 1944, in the United Kingdom, the son of William and Nancy Dahling. With his family, he moved to the United States at the age of two. Raised in Lake City, he was a graduate of the public schools there. He was employed at DiAcro in Lake City for 18 years. Later, in Rochester, he was employed at grocery stores, including Mr. P’s, Rainbow, and then Hy-Vee Barlow. He retired in 2006 due to health concerns.

He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, and attending the softball games of a friend, Jeff Myhre.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Dahling of Rochester, whom he married on July 2, 1988, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester. Also surviving are his stepson, Michael Krueger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Jasen Dahling of Winona; and a sister, June Dahling of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
