Yvonne 'Bonny' Nelson — Utica

Yvonne "Bonny" Nelson, 79, of Utica, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.

Bonny was born April 21, 1936, to Clarence "Hiney" and Milrae Plank (Gage) in Beaver Valley. She married Raymond Nelson in 1953, and the two of them had two children, Dan and Lori. Bonny was active in the Women of the Moose in St. Charles and the Legion Auxiliary. She loved camping with her family, tending to her flower garden and cooking. She was famous by her grandchildren for her waffle cookies and brownies.

Bonny is survived by her husband Raymond; children, Dan (Rita) Nelson and Lori (Doug) Brown; grandchildren, Jenny, Heath, Haley, Maicee and Kiley; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Emma, Kaylee, Harper, Max, Violet and Brooklyn; and brothers, Cleyson (Fran) Plank and Russ (Barb) Plank.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service, St. Charles. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
