And you wonder why porn is big business

CNBC has been heavily promoting a "business" story called "Porn: Business of Pleasure," which I'm sure will be journalistically justified and interesting, but if you have any doubt what it's reallyabout, check the full-page promo ads in USA Today, for example...I haven't seen the on-air promos, but I can just imagine what those are like.

The full-page ad in today's edition of USA Today has the headline, "Bare Market," between a woman's legs -- bare legs, of course, with silver high-heels, up to mid-thigh at the top of the photo.

To the casual observer, it looks like CNBC is in bed as the pornographers. It's perfectly possible to promote this kind of legitimate and important story without the kind of advertising that promotes Hustler and X-rated videos.
