Another Democrat is stepping forward to challenge 2nd District Republican Congressman John Kline.
Thomas Craft of Eagan plans to formally announce his candidacy at the state Capitol on Saturday, according to a press release. The 30-year-old is a political newcomer who works as a technology consultant.
Another Democrat, former state Rep. Mike Obermueller of Eagan, is also seeking the party's endorsement. He lost to Kline last year. Republican David Gerson has announced he is running against Kline again after losing to him in last year's primary.
Craft pledges that if elected he would work to end the political gridlock in Washington, D.C.

"Too many politicians are putting political interest ahead of the interest of the country. If elected officials were interested in compromise and negotiating in good will instead of trying to score political points out country would be in a lot better shape than it is today," he said in a statement.
Kline, of Lakeville, is serving his sixth term in the U.S. House and chairs the House Education and Workforce Committee. He has become a target of national Democrats who believe redistricting changes make him more vulnerable. Meanwhile, the
