Bandi will help Rochester work together

The saying "It takes a village" has become a cliché. That’s unfortunate, because it’s true: It does take a village. Each of us is responsible to our neighbors and our community to help make the world a better place to live.

There are lots of ways to do this — volunteering in schools, working with civic organizations and picking up litter in neighborhood parks are just a few.

Sankar Bandi is a candidate for city council who understands that everyone needs to contribute. As a city council member representing Ward 5, Sankar will engage the residents of his ward and all of Rochester to give them a voice and help them feel that they are each an important part of the fabric of Rochester.

Building community. Reaching out to and engaging the underrepresented. Being a part of that village it takes to make a community successful, its children strong and healthy, and its people safe, happy and productive.

I encourage everyone who dreams of a Rochester that is inclusive, that has responsible fiscal policies for the present and the future, that keeps some of that small-town feel even as it becomes more cosmopolitan, to vote for Sankar Bandi on Tuesday.
