'Brett Favre may appear live via satellite'

'Did you forget that you have a sports section?'
'Did you forget that you have a sports section?'

Check the ad in the Star Tribune today, page A11, regarding the "Super Bowl of Success," also known as the "Get Motivated! Business Seminar," coming up May 26 at Target Center.

Aside from the somewhat cheesy participation of former national leaders Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani (not to mention Steve Forbes) in "a dynamic seminar to increase your productivity and income," two other special guests are planned: Ron Gardenhire, "dynamic Twins manager," and Brett Favre, "unstoppable Vikings quarterback."

Well, I've seen a lot of Gardenhire -- great manager, apparently, and maybe he's dynamic in the locker room and when off-camera, but like most baseball managers, on-camera he's only a dynamo when he's kicking dirt on an umpire. And Favre? Great quarterback, but "unstoppable"? I won't mention New Orleans in this context.

The real curiosity of this is the tiny, tiny type under Favre's pic -- barely legible in the outstate edition -- that says, "Brett Favre may appear live via satellite."

Though I assume that should say "Brett Favre WILL appear live via satellite," maybe he's truly undecided -- and is it news that he's still the Vikings quarterback? Who knows?
